Premise: Remake of War of the Worlds...
Recommend?: Hmmm, well the ending sucks and there wasn't as much alien stuff as I would have liked. There is an annoying 15-20 minutes spent with Tim Robbins in a basement that should have been seriously cut down or cut out completely. The entire movie is about Tom Cruise and his development as a parent rather than how they are going to kick alien butt. Dakota Fanning is annoying - I liked her in other movies - just not this. The special effects are top notch - so that is why I would recommend you see it in a theater - matinee or bargain price. It is, however, too intense for young'uns. Not as good as I had hoped.

by the way - Did you know you can rearrange the letters in ‘Tom Cruise’ to spell ‘Moist Cure’?
all though why you would want to I’m not too sure.
