The Mayor of Casterbridge

Premise: Young man auctions off his wife and daughter while drunk...mends his ways as an older man yet is confronted by his past

Recommend?: Only if you like long, drawn out, BBC style, period movies. If you do - then it's wonderful! If you don't, then you will be wondering how much longer (it's 3.5 hours by the way). Ciaran Hinds is wonderful as is the young lady that plays his "daughter". The ending is sad...need to read the book now
