The Aviator

Grade: C

Premise: Bio-flick of Howard Hughes.

Recommend?: Yes. I had heard various reports on this movie - mostly that it was just so-so. I thought it was good (above so-so). Cate Blanchett was dead on with her portrayal of Katharine Hepburn. Not sure how good the others were with their impressions. Alan Alda was great at Senator Brewster. Leonardo DiCaprio gave a solid performance as Howard Hughes but at the same time - it's still Leonardo DiCaprio. He will never look old/mature enough to pull off older interesting characters 100%. Still he wasn't too bad. When will they give John C Reilly an Oscar? He's in just about every picture that gets nominated - I think he's the link. He's great in everything. Oh, this flick is almost 3 hours long - we had to watch over two nights. Be wary - the last 2 minutes are a bit letdown. Like they didn't know how to end the movie - so they just ended it. The rest is worth it.
